Panthassia Terms of Service (draft)
Last updated: [DATE]. Operator: [LEGAL NAME / COMPANY NUMBER], [ADDRESS], contact [EMAIL] ("we").
1. What this is
Panthassia is a desktop browser and community ("the service"): an app you install, and an optional online community with accounts, forums, stories and lore. You can browse the web with the app without an account. These terms apply to the app and to your account and community use. By installing the app or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18 you confirm that you have a parent or guardian's permission. We may refuse or end accounts that break these terms.
3. Your account
- Give a real email address you control, and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not share accounts or sell them.
- Tell us at [EMAIL] if you think your account was compromised.
- You can delete your account in the app. We then delete or anonymise your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. The app
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices. The app includes open-source software under its own licences (listed in the app's documentation).
- Do not reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app as your own, or use it to attack others.
- Pages you visit are not ours and not under our control. We do not endorse them and are not responsible for them. The app's privacy shield and security features reduce risk but do not remove it.
- The app is provided as it is. It is early software and may contain faults.
5. Content you post
"Content" means anything you submit: posts, stories, lore, scenes, characters, names and descriptions.
- You keep ownership of your content.
- You give us a licence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for technical reasons (for example resizing, format checks) and distribute it within the service, worldwide and free of charge, for as long as it is on the service, so that we can run the community. For content you submit to the shared world (scenes, characters, lore) you also give us and other members the rights stated in the licence you choose when you submit it (see the Community Rules).
- Canon: if the founder accepts a lore entry as canon, you give us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, adapt and build on it as part of the Panthassia world, with credit to you by your handle where practical. You keep ownership. If you do not agree to this, do not submit for canon.
- You promise that you made the content or have the right to share it, that it follows the Community Rules, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law.
- We do not claim your content is accurate and we do not check everything before it appears.
6. Rules
You must follow the Community Rules. In short: be kind, no illegal content, no harassment, no sexual content involving minors (ever), no spam or scams, no malware, no impersonation, no copying other people's art or writing. We may remove content and suspend or end accounts that break the rules, and may report illegal content to the authorities.
7. Reporting and removal
Use the in-app report button, or email [EMAIL]. We review reports and act on them. If you believe content infringes your copyright, email [COPYRIGHT EMAIL] with: your contact details, what the work is, where our copy is, a statement that you believe the use is not authorised, and that your information is accurate. If we remove your content you can ask us to reconsider by replying to the notice.
8. Paid features
There are no paid features today. If we add them we will show prices and terms before you pay, and your statutory consumer rights (including cancellation and refund rights for digital content) will apply.
9. Our responsibility
We do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that: we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss of data, profit or business, or for the content of other members or other websites. The service is provided free of charge "as is" and without promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes and ending
We may change these terms or the service; we will tell you in the app or by email before material changes take effect. You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end the service or your access if you break these terms or to protect others. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as the canon licence and liability) survive.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of [England and Wales / Scotland / Northern Ireland]. Courts of [that jurisdiction] have non-exclusive jurisdiction; if you are a consumer you may also use the courts where you live.
