A browser with a world inside it.
Panthassia is a private browser for Windows. Behind every tab is a living, futuristic world: cloud-high cities, neon streets, hidden valleys.
It is beautiful, and it is not entirely safe. Light is taxed. Signs are leased. Somewhere between the two there is freedom, wild country, and a low note in the rails that nobody has explained.
Places to explore

These are only the first places. There is much more to find, and the community will map the rest.
From the archive
Overheard in Panthassia.
Light is taxed. The tithe is small, it is always small, and it has never once been lowered.
Cloud City · The tithe of light
A fast, bright patter means a street is closing. A single long note means someone is looking for you.
Neon Quarter · Rain has a language
The first person to tell you it is only weather has never felt it.
The cloud sea · The low note
Leave it a little better, and tell no one how.
Alpine Valley · The Long Meadow
The world is written by its people. Read the lore inside the app, add to it, and the best additions become canon.
Someone lives here
Meet Nyx.
On a balcony rail above the Neon Quarter’s rail yards sits a woman who has been there longer than anyone can say. Couriers nod to her without breaking stride. Nothing in the Quarter moves that she has not already noticed.
In the app she sits at the edge of the neon scene, in her own light. Now and then she turns her head and looks straight back at you.
The brass vial on her belt chain? She says it is empty. She keeps it lit anyway.
A world behind your browsing
Choose a place made by Panthassia or by the community, and let its light follow your day. Or bring a picture of your own. It stays on your computer.
Everything within reach
Tools pinned to the side of any page: calculator, converter, tasks, whiteboard, PDF signing, breathing breaks and more. Put two pages side by side, and gather tabs into colour-coded groups.
A world that grows
Read the lore. Write stories. Argue theories in the forums. The best additions become part of Panthassia.
Private by default. A built-in shield for trackers, HTTPS first, and no account needed to browse. Nothing is sent to us unless you choose to sign in.
Questions
Is Panthassia free?
Yes. The browser and its tools are free during the beta. Nothing in the app takes payment.
What do I need to run it?
A Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer. Other systems are not planned for the first release.
Why is it invite-only?
We are opening to a small group first so we can fix problems quickly and keep the community small enough to look after. Join the waitlist and we will write once, when your invitation is ready.
Is it private?
You do not need an account to browse. A built-in shield blocks known third-party trackers, addresses are upgraded to HTTPS where the site supports it, and history, bookmarks and notes stay on your computer. If you sign in, only your account details and what you choose to post in the community are stored on our server. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Does it use Chrome extensions?
No. Extensions can read everything you do on every page, so Panthassia does not run third-party extensions. The things people most often install them for are built in: an ad and tracker shield, a reader view, a dark-page mode, a password saver, a screenshot tool and a site blocker for focus.
Does it make my computer slow?
The world behind your tabs is a short looping video that pauses when you are not looking at it, and it can be switched off or set to a still picture in Settings. Reduced Motion is respected.
Can I use my own picture or video as the background?
Yes. Add your own picture and it stays on your computer. It is never uploaded.
Does it have a VPN?
No. A real VPN needs servers and a trusted provider, so we do not pretend to offer one. If you already use a proxy, you can route browsing through it in Settings.
How do updates work?
The app checks for updates when it starts and every few hours, downloads them quietly, and installs when you next close it.
Who made it?
Panthassia is made by a very small team. The world is written by its people: read the lore inside the app, add to it, and the best additions become canon.
Somewhere in the world
There is a balcony here with your name on it.
Panthassia is opening to a small group first. We will write once, when your invitation is ready. You must be 16 or older. Your address is used only for this, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
